Ed is Dead-Heads Unite!

My 5th Pixies concert in a little over a year and I'll tell ya - it never gets old. I feed off of the energy, high school nostalgia, power chords and incessant screaming like some sort of vampiristic fanatical fanboy. If Buffet fans are Parrot-Heads, and Dead fans were Dead-Heads - what's the correct term for an obsessive Pixies fan? Do I sense a phrase-coining opportunity here?

This is a tricky one, which requires more thought than I have time for at the moment. I'll throw a few quick possibilities out there: Havalina-Heads, Brick is Red-Heads, Gigantic-Heads (that would apply particularly well to me), but I'm leaning towards Ed is Dead-Heads.

So have I successfully coined the bastard? Have a go at it yourself. Here's a great resource to use for ideas. And another. Before anyone answers "Loser-Heads" I just want to point out that Venditti will get around to posting that moniker eventually, so dig a litter deeper. The crew will be at T's and the Paradise before and after the concert, so drop in and say hi if you're hitting the show and I don't even know.

Black Heads - but that is really a reference to Frankie - what about Pick Heads? Never mind. This toy I have is confusing enough - how the hell do you get the square into the round hole... the ball went into the square hole... ughhh... followed by a Chewbacca yell.

As in 'Bone Machine', obviously, Detroit. Nice one. Your dig resulted in an accidental contender.

It was my 3rd in a year...

I had general admission seating, which usually means you stand around and first person in gets to the front, so I didn't really pay much attention to the seat numbers. Then for the first time in my life, I was late for a concert and I missed the first 2 or 3 songs, I arrived on the floor and realized everyone was standing by a seat, it was seated! I examined my ticket and found my place... in the 2nd row just right of center stage!! They were the best seats I think I've ever had. Those fan presales really work!! (and the Pixies rocked again!)

Wasn't a dig at all. I enjoy the Pixies as well. I just like the sound of it. I have a real gift for these things, and spotting good midget porn.

Chris - I loves ya. Sam - all those chairs were a pain. I was in the first floor section as well. We had these awful people beside us who kept calling over the security guards to check our tickets because they thought we were in the wrong place. The staff would look at our tickets and say "These are their seats". The second time I glared at the little bastard and his girlfriend came over. She said "can you guys move a bit?" I said these are our seats and one of my friends (Peden) is already standing in the aisle and getting hassled because you're group is taking up so much room. Now enjoy the show, and stop keeping us from enjoying it." Later on, another girl who looked like a transsexual and hadn't brushed her teeth in a week, came over and did the same thing. They spent the ENTIRE SHOW worrying about the fact that we were in OUR seats. I was pissed.

I understand Dave, there was a lot of confusion last night with the way the seating was. Even when I walked in and showied my tickets, no one really seemed to know where I was supposed to be, and it turned out two people were standing in my seats (cheeky buggers).

I think the main thing I liked about my seats last night, was that they were JUST in front of the main speakers, so I didn't get my ears blasted.

The security was really nice though. too nice I thought. These two mullets (one looked like a wrestler with no muscles) had this weird little fight and instead of kicking them out, they seperated them. That's a first for me. I've seen people kicked out of shows for much less.

How was paradise? If I'd read you guys were going to be there, I would have stopped in.
